If you are a landlord of any property, from houses to hotels, then you are required by law to have an annual gas safety check on any gas appliance you have in your rental property. The Gas Safety Regulations 1998 state that every landlord must make sure all gas appliances, chimneys and flues are safe to use and work correctly and efficiently as part of their duty of care to their tenants.

What does a landlord certificate cover?

A landlord certificate is required for any rental property that has any gas appliance and involves checking that the gas supply in safe and each gas appliance is operating safely.

At Plumbcraft we include the servicing on 1 gas appliance in the cost of a landlord certificate, additional appliances are charged per appliance.

What else is required?

All rental properties that have gas appliances should have a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm close to each gas appliance.
