Why does my cylinder need a service?

Unvented cylinders provide pressurised hot water to out of your taps and showers, which means they have safety devices and controls that maintain the correct pressure.

These should be annually inspected and replaced as necessary to ensure the cylinder operates safely and doesn’t cause damage to the cylinder.

If regularly serviced your hot water cylinder will have between 10 -20 years manufacturer’s warranty depending on the make and model which would be invalidated if the cylinder controls and safety devices are not regularly maintained and replaced.
